Lakhi emerges Indo-Nippon Cup ladies’ winner

Lakhi swain, the name synonymous with ladies golf in eastern India, made Odisha proud again by winning the title in women`s category of the Indo-Nippon Cup Tournament, which was organised by Embassy of Japan in New Delhi from December 2 to 4.

Around 120 golfers from Japan and India took part in the tournament. Among the competitors 30 women golfers were from Japan and India. Bhubaneswar golfer Lakhi Swain emerged winner, scoring one birdie and seven pars. Her total score for 18 hole was 84 and 45 in Stableford format.

She was also in contention for winning the longest drive and straightest drive, with the longest drive having a distance of 300 yards. However, a lottery of the same, gave others the prize. It must be noted that, Lakhi has made Odisha proud by winning many international and national golf tournaments previously, most notably in Indonesia this year.
